Children and Family Project Worker

NIACRO believes children and young people can be diverted from the criminal justice system through support designed to meet their needs and the needs of their families.

We aim to reduce anti-social and offending behaviour among those perceived to be vulnerable to offending, through our work with children, young people and their families

The post holder will provide support to families and children in agreed projects and will work to develop appropriate opportunities for individual progression and specialist intervention.

Essential Criteria: 
  • A 3rd level qualification (minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent) in a relevant discipline e.g. Criminal Justice, Social work, Youth and community, Health or education
     
  • At least one year’s experience of case work, programme development, and work with disadvantaged children and Families (within the last 5 years).
     
  • Experience of working in an interagency setting and as part of a team (within the last 5 years).
     
  • Access to transport which will enable the postholder to carry out the requirements of the job

Grade 4 £23,398 - £27,668
Location: 
Belfast
Hours: 
35 hours per week – some flexibility of hours/days of work will be required to include evening and weekend work.
Duration: 
Initially March 2018
Pension:

Access NI: 
This post requires that a check must be carried out under the requirements of ACCESS NI enhanced disclosure. This will involve a full criminal records check which will show spent and unspent convictions, cautions, cases pending or any other relevant information.
